Thomas McMahon Superintendent, the Business Administrator at Barnegat Township School District, has always been an outstanding student. He has received several college scholarships including the Freed Foundation and George Link Business Scholarship. He was a salutatorian at high school and was also inducted into five national Honor Societies including Leadership, Political Science and Business. Thomas graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Political Science from Monmouth University. He completed the course with a 3.91 grade point average out of 4 and received the summa cum laude honor, which denotes the highest academic distinction. He was employed full-time throughout his college career.
After graduating, Thomas McMahon Superintendent ventured into business and voluntarily started providing coaching to youth basketball teams. He, thereafter, entered a teacher certification while working full time in the evening, and was conferred certifications in Nursery School, Elementary School, Business and Social studies. Thomas McMahon Superintendent was a member of the Student Government Association. Owing to his excellent academic record, he was granted permission to have a double major in Business and Political Science by the Liberal Arts Dean. Thomas attended the Jersey City State College and received his Masters of Arts degree in Educational Administration & Supervision, with a 4.0 cumulative average. In addition to this, he also holds an Educational Doctorate from Rutgers University, with a 4.0 cumulative average.
Thomas McMahon Superintendent was invited to the Oxford University, to participate in 2005 Oxford Round Table. He has held several administrative positions and has contributed significantly in the development of Education in New Jersey. He established several technology learning centers. He also created a technology department, and successfully drafted a new incentive aid bill for New Jersey school districts. Apart from this, Thomas is a keen humanitarian. He strongly believes in working for the welfare of the society. He was the NJ chairman of Watchful Shepherd Program that aims at preventing any form of child abuse. In addition to this, he was also on the Board of Directors for the Association of Retarded Citizens, Ocean County.
